Roof, Deminsky named All-Stars
The Northwoods League announced its 2009 Postseason All-Star team on Monday and two River Bats made the 25-man roster. Jonathan Roof (Michigan State) and David Deminsky (St. Cloud) were voted onto to the team by members of the media and coaches throughout the league.
Roof led the team in hitting with a .332 batting average and was among the Top 10 in hitting all season long. The infielder also led the Bats in stolen bases (25), hits (80)and at-bats (241).
Deminsky finished with team-high six pitching wins and also earned a mid-season all-star selection. The left-hander also made a team-high 11 starts and finished with second-most innings logged at 71.1.
Joe Faber Field was also named the best playing surface in the Northwoods League.
