The St. Cloud River Bats of the Northwoods League have announced the release of their 2010 schedule today.

The River Bats season will begin on Thursday, June 3rd on the road against the Willmar Stingers, one of the league's new expansion teams. The River Bats will be at home for the first time on Saturday, June 5th when they play host to the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers.

Due to the fact that the League has increased from 14 to 16 teams, there is a complete change in the way the schedule looks. Instead of playing both North and South Division opponents the River Bats will only see fellow North Division teams. The amount of games has also changed by increasing from 68 to 70 games.

"With the new schedule arrangement we have the unique opportunity of developing some strong rivalries" River Bats owner Joel Sutherland said. "When you only face divisional opponents and you see them 10 times in three months, rivalries naturally occur."

All River Bats home games will begin at 7:05 pm with the exception of Sunday games, which will begin at 6:05 pm.
